The NFL must have recently mandated that all networks promote all NFL games regardless of the network on which they're airing.  In the past, CBS, FOX, NBC and ABC/ESPN wouldn't have promoted anything on a rival network... not even on a "Triple Dog Dare".  :-)

Finally Some Rain!

Thankfully we had some really good rain all along California's Central Coast, and another nice shower just happened this morning.  Some storm totals thus far:  Oceano 1.46", Nipomo 1.30", Santa Barbara/Goleta 1.19", Santa Maria 1.09" and San Luis Obispo 1.02".  Unfortunately there was some localized flooding in Camarillo due to a clogged drain, but for the rest of the area this rain has been great.  Stay safe on the road, everyone...some additional rain possible today!

Gas Prices

I love Sunday Gas Sales...discovered these a couple months ago.  Although gas is still more expensive here than most places, I paid $3.29 today and I'm thankful it's $0.90 cheaper than it was 5 months ago when I moved to California.  That being said, some gas stations are still living in the past.  This Chevron station was $4.49 when I arrived, now it's "only" $4.29...exactly a dollar more than I paid a couple miles away.  The real winner for stubbornness is this Mobil Station.  It was $4.79 when I moved here, and it's STILL $4.79!  People were getting gas there today, too...paying $1.50 more than they have to...yikes!

California Drought

We have beautiful weather *here right now, but it's SO dry! We haven't had real rain since spring: 0.01" since late April in Santa Maria, 0.02" in Paso Robles & 0.03" in Santa Barbara.  Just going to make the best of it and await the pattern change!  *Not pictured:  California.  ;-)

I don't think I've ever done a "Throwback Thursday", but it was time to break out some old tapes for a new promo and I thought I'd share screenshots from the late 1990s & early 2000s.
