I've had my 1998 Honda Accord almost exactly 17 years and I've reached 155,000 miles in it! Let's see if I can make it 310,000... :-)

Simba doesn't know what to make of the noisy shadows outside. They're preparing patios and stairways for painting this week in my complex. :-)

Stormy 2001-2015

I normally limit my posts to fun or informative things, but my heart is broken.  My cat Stormy passed away Saturday night.  He was the sweetest cat I've ever known and was my buddy.  I adopted him from the shelter in 2001 as an underweight kitten after he was on our KNDO/KNDU noon show as the Pet Of The Week, so he could grow up with my (now 17 year old) first adopted cat Simba from ID.  I let the good people of WA & OR pick names for him, and "Stormy" won the vote.  Simba and Stormy have moved with me from WA to NM to CA.  He was able to surmount a hyperthyroid problem for several years and never stopped being my pal.  He always made sure to join me on the bed at bedtime, and he had his own complex path to walk before either crawling under the sheets with me or laying on the pillow behind my head.  I'll never forget his sweet disposition, his high squeaky meow, or the fact he didn't bite anyone his entire life.  I'm just glad I could spend the last 10 hours of his life with him on the couch, petting and brushing him, giving him water and food and trying to keep him cool.
